Do I need a Lawyer?

If you are struggling to get the services that you are entitled to for your loved one with special needs, it is advised that you get help from a special needs lawyer from Freeman Law Offices, LLC. Our firm is committed strictly to addressing these matters, and we know the system, the laws, and how to manage a wide range of cases.

Children with Special Needs

Children with disabilities have the right to access to educational services that address their specialized needs. The goal is to prepare those individuals with special needs for the future, in employment and independent living. Their entitlements to educational services may continue through either age 18 or age 21. The law states clearly that each child with disability must be provided with a free appropriate public education, which is termed, (FAPE). If the school in your area refuses to give your child the special services that they have a right to under law, it is advised that you get legal help. In some cases, the school has not received the appropriate documentation that will force them to provide the service, and we can help you with every aspect of getting this in motion and then resolved.

Adults with Special Needs

Adults with special needs can gain access to community-based services such as adult day programs, group homes, supervised housing, vocational training and assistive technology. For adults, there can be waiting lists, but getting on those lists as quickly as possible is important. If there are no programs available in your area or you simply would feel more comfortable if you had significant control over the program, it may be possible to develop these programs yourself. If this is of interest to you or your loved one, feel free to contact us for assistance in achieving your goal.
